An extraordinary lighting design is what makes of a remarkable viewing experience. Lighting designers’ creativity is limitless. To find a lighting fixture that set no boundary to their imagination can be difficult. But, there is always a way to make your vision real when you find no existing product models satisfying, that is, customization.

Customizing a products does not always involving a brand new lighting idea that have to start from a CAD drawing. Most of the time, even a slight modification can make a difference.

Here is the story of how a lighting designer keeps creative to bring his dream design to life by customizing the potential lighting fixture.

The snowflake LED lights are popular for winter holidays in foreign countries. The standard snowflake light models in current market only have built-in lighting patterns and the light source comes from neon strip lights. It is beautiful but lacks of more color changing possibilities. The designer wanted to have the snowflake lights controlled via DMX system to generate stronger color changing capabilities needed for his lighting design. He told us about his idea and our solution was to customize the fixture for him by replacing the neon strip lights with DMX-based strip lights.

DMX based lighting fixture is our specialty. Designer wanted to use the snowflake for both indoor and outdoor events, so the strip had to withstand high demanding outdoor environment. The version on offer was DMX strips with exterior silicone tubing and interior silicone gel. The waterproof method gave the strip IP68 rating to make sure it works well in outdoor wet applications.

More importantly, the strip was much stiffer to the touch with such waterproof method, which guaranteed that it would not break especially when we bent strips over each point of the snowflake frame. The strips were firmly attached to the frame by neon cable ties. DMX based version of snowflake lights worked very well. Having a lighting fixture customized can be painstaking in terms of dealing with product details and the possible high cost, but all you have to do is to find the suitable supplier who are willing to go through all the trouble to do it for you and with affordable price as well.
